SafetyCulture (iAuditor) Pricing in 2026: What It Costs and What's Metered

That's the answer, and for most people it's the whole answer. The free tier is genuinely free — not a trial, no clock, no card — and ten seats covers a lot of small operations permanently.

Three things complicate it, and they're the reason this page is longer than one line.

The tiers

The free tier is the story. Ten seats with no expiry is unusually generous in this category, and it's why so many teams start here and never look further. It covers inspections, corrective actions, assets and reports — the actual job, not a crippled demo.

Premium is billed annually, which means the real commitment is $288 per seat per year. For a team of five that's $1,440 a year. Worth doing the multiplication before the monthly figure anchors you, because the monthly figure is not a monthly option.

What's metered on top

This is the part that surprises people, and it's newer than most published pricing pages reflect.

AI features are metered per seat. They're not simply included in Premium — usage is counted. If you build a process that leans on AI analysis and then scale it across a team, the cost behaves differently from the flat per-seat number you budgeted from.

That's not unique to this product — metered AI is arriving across the whole category — but it does mean the honest answer to "what will this cost us" is "the seat price, plus whatever your AI usage turns out to be", and nobody can tell you the second part in advance.

The practical advice: if AI is incidental to how you'd use it, ignore this. If AI is the reason you're buying, ask for the metering detail in writing before you sign an annual term.

What you don't pay for

Worth stating, because it's genuinely good and gets lost in complaints:

• The template library is free, and it is the largest in the category by a wide margin. Thousands of pre-built inspection templates.
• Offline is included at every tier. Inspections, actions, assets and reports all work without signal. Analytics, the template editor and the public library don't — so you can run an inspection in a basement but you can't go and fetch a new template while you're down there.
• No per-inspection charge. Some competitors bill per report or per unit; this doesn't.

What reviewers say about value, with names and dates

Price complaints are rare. The complaints are about what happens around the price.

That's the sharpest 2026 criticism and it isn't about money. Recreating 450 schedules by hand is a cost, but it's a cost that lands as labour rather than invoice — and it's the kind that doesn't appear in any comparison table.

Two separate people, six months apart, in different countries and different industries, describing the same thing: support routed through AI with no human at the end. On a free tier that's an acceptable trade. On $288 per seat per year it's the thing to ask about.

Is the free tier actually free?

Yes, and this deserves saying plainly because the category is full of "free" that isn't.

No time limit. No card required. Ten seats. The core job — build a template, run an inspection, capture photos, raise actions, generate a report — works. It is not a trial that degrades.

Where you'll hit the edge: seats first, almost always. Ten is a real ceiling and teams cross it faster than they expect because inspection software spreads sideways — one safety manager becomes four supervisors becomes everyone on site. The second edge is analytics and reporting depth, which is where Premium earns its money.

How it compares on price

The number that makes the point isn't SafetyCulture's — it's the minimums on the row below it. GoCanvas is $1,044 a year even if one person ever opens it, because $29 a user has a three-user floor. Fulcrum is $2,580 on the same arithmetic. Against those, ten free seats is not a loss-leader, it's a different business model.

What to ask before you sign an annual term

Five questions, in the order they'll cost you money:

1. How many seats will this actually be in twelve months? The product spreads. Budget the trajectory, not today's headcount.
2. What exactly is metered, and at what rate? Get the AI metering in writing.
3. What happens when you change something I depend on? Ask directly about migration tooling, given the 450-schedules review above.
4. What's the support path on Premium? Specifically whether there's a human, and in which timezone.
5. What happens to my data if I leave? Export format, and whether templates come with you.

None of those are gotchas. They're the questions that separate a price from a cost.

Does the price include offline? Yes, at every tier. Inspections, actions, assets and reports work without a connection. Analytics, the template editor and the public template library don't.

Is there a per-inspection charge? No. It's seat-based, not usage-based — with the exception of AI features, which are metered.

What's the cheapest alternative? Depends what you're replacing. Safesite is free for unlimited members if you want OSHA-shaped safety forms.
