SafetyCulture (iAuditor) Review 2026: What It's Good At, and the Two Complaints That Recur
SafetyCulture — now called Mitti — is the largest inspection platform in the category, and for most teams it is the right default. Free for ten seats, the biggest template library anywhere, and offline that genuinely works. If you want a short answer, that's it.
Two complaints recur in 2026 reviews with enough consistency to be worth knowing before you commit, and neither is about features. We'll quote both with names and dates.
Important
The name. iAuditor became SafetyCulture on 21 November 2022, and SafetyCulture became Mitti on 11 August 2026 — after twenty-two years. Same app, same data, same logins; safetyculture.com now redirects to mitti.com. Reviews from any of those eras describe the same product. Separately, there's a Mitti Insurance — SafetyCulture's insurance joint venture with QBE, which reverted to the Mitti name the same day. Two Mittis. The insurance one isn't this one.
What it is
An inspection platform: build a template, run it on a phone or tablet, capture photos and signatures, raise corrective actions, generate a report, and see the results across sites on a dashboard.
The centre of gravity is that last part. SafetyCulture is built so a safety manager can see across — trends, repeat failures, which site is slipping. That shapes everything about it, and it's the clearest way to work out whether it suits you.
Android package identifier: still com.safetyculture.iauditor. Two rebrands later, the immutable ID underneath carries a name retired in 2022 — it can't be changed without publishing a new app and losing every install and review. The iOS app ID is 499999532, the record issued in 2012.
What it's genuinely good at
The template library. Thousands of pre-built templates, free, across every industry the category touches. This is the single biggest practical advantage and the reason most people land here: whatever you're inspecting, something close already exists. Nobody else is near it on volume.
Offline that actually works. Inspections, actions, assets and reports all function with no connection. This is broad — broader than most competitors, several of whom either don't attempt it or limit it in ways they document quietly.
What doesn't work offline: analytics, the template editor, and the public template library. So you can run an inspection in a basement, but you can't go and fetch a new template while you're down there. Worth knowing before a job, not during one.
The free tier. Ten seats, no time limit, no card. Not a trial. The full inspection workflow is intact.
Breadth. Assets, actions, scheduling, training, issue reporting, analytics. If you want one system doing several jobs, this does several jobs.
The two complaints that recur
1. Changes arriving without a way to migrate
This is the sharpest 2026 criticism and it isn't about features:

Four hundred and fifty schedules, by hand. That cost doesn't appear on any pricing page and doesn't show up in a feature comparison. It lands as somebody's week.
The pattern to take from it: when a platform this large changes something structural, the migration path is the thing to ask about — not whether the change is good.
2. Support routed through AI
Two people, six months apart, different countries, different industries:

The second is notably gentle — "it would be great to speak to people sometimes" — which is what makes it credible. It's not an angry review, it's a head of EHS describing a limit.
On a free tier, AI-first support is a fair trade. On $288 per seat per year it's the question to ask before signing.
Two smaller, specific criticisms
Worth including because they're concrete and the kind of thing you only discover after buying.

Offline coverage is broad, but photo handling is the reported soft spot, along with slow sync on weak signal. If your job is mostly photographic and mostly out of coverage, test that specifically rather than trusting the headline.

Small, and it matters if the report is a client deliverable rather than an internal record. Inspectors who hand reports to paying customers care about the first page in a way safety managers don't.
Who it suits, and who it doesn't
It suits you if you're managing inspections across multiple sites or people, you want one system covering assets and actions as well as inspections, you need a template that already exists, or you want something genuinely free for a small team.
It suits you less if the deliverable is a client-facing branded document (see the cover page limitation), if you're a single operator who'd never use the dashboard that shapes the whole product, or if you need a human on support at a predictable hour.
The honest framing: SafetyCulture is built for oversight. If the person buying it is the person doing the inspections, you're paying for architecture aimed at someone else.
Is it worth paying for?
The free tier is where most people should start and where a good number should stay. Ten seats with no expiry is a real offer.
Premium at $24 per seat per month billed annually — $288 a year per person — buys analytics depth, more seats, and more of the platform. The multiplication is the thing to do honestly: five people is $1,440 a year, and the monthly figure is not a monthly option.
