This is the emptiest comparison in our research. Neither vendor publishes on the pair, no editorial exists, and we found no migration between them in either direction. We are writing it anyway, and being explicit that the evidence is thin.

GoCanvas
Choose GoCanvas if you want one admin designing a form once and pushing it to a whole crew, with dispatch and integrations attached. Note the three-user minimum before you price it.
Fulcrum
Choose Fulcrum if location matters — it is built around geospatial data capture in a way GoCanvas is not, and that is a real differentiator rather than a marketing one.
Both vendors ignoring this pair may mean buyers do too. If you are choosing between form platforms generally, the shortlist is probably wider than these two.

Neither of these is a switch between the two products on this page — they are inbound to Fulcrum from elsewhere, and they are here to show what Fulcrum displaces. We found no named departures from GoCanvas at all, and no movement between the pair in either direction.

Where they genuinely differ
Pricing and minimums
GoCanvas is $29 per user per month against a three-user minimum, billed annually — $1,044 a year even if only one person ever opens it. It has been owned by Nemetschek since mid-2024.
Fulcrum's entry pricing carries a five-seat minimum, which works out around $2,580 a year. Neither is priced for an individual.
What each is actually for
GoCanvas is a form builder with dispatch and integrations — one admin, many field users, a form pushed out to all of them.
Fulcrum is built around geospatial capture. If where a record was taken matters as much as what it says, that is the difference.
Offline
GoCanvas offline is genuine — a rich client that fills forms with no coverage, with credentials revalidating on a timeout that defaults to 24 hours and extends to 30 days.
Fulcrum is also built for disconnected field capture, which follows from its geospatial focus.
What each is honestly better at
GoCanvas
Standardising a form across a crew. Design once, push to everyone, get the data back in one shape — with dispatch and integrations to move it onward. For an operation with a lot of people filling the same form, that is the job.
Fulcrum
Anything where location is part of the record. Its geospatial foundation is a genuine architectural difference rather than a feature checkbox, and for environmental, utility or survey work it is the reason to choose it.
What we could not verify
- Any migration between these two products. We found none, in either direction, on any platform.
- Whether demand for this comparison exists at all. Neither vendor has invested in it, which is a signal worth taking seriously — we are publishing this as a low-cost test rather than a confident bet, and we would rather say so.
- Current Fulcrum pricing tiers beyond the seat minimum.
- Reddit was unreachable in every research session.
If neither fits — a third shape of tool
Both of these price for teams and neither suits one person. If you are an individual who needs a form filled and a document produced, the minimums above are the whole answer — ReportWalk is free to start with no seat minimum, and correspondingly does far less than either.
