SafetyCulture alternatives
after the rebrand

iAuditor → SafetyCulture (21 Nov 2022) → Mitti (11 Aug 2026)

On 11 August 2026, SafetyCulture renamed the whole company and the inspection platform to Mitti. If you are looking for an alternative, it is worth knowing exactly what you would be leaving — because on price and breadth it is harder to beat than most lists admit.

Why people are looking

The name changed. For the second time.

iAuditor became SafetyCulture on 21 November 2022. SafetyCulture became Mitti on 11 August 2026, after twenty-two years. safetyculture.com now redirects to mitti.com.

It is the same product, the same data and the same logins. Nothing about the app was replaced — but a rename of that size is when most people stop and ask whether they still want the thing they are paying for, which is probably why you are here.

One point of confusion worth clearing: Mitti started life in 2020 as SafetyCulture's insurance joint venture with QBE, later renamed SafetyCulture Care. On the same day in August it reverted to Mitti Insurance. So there are two Mittis, and the insurance one is not this one.

Changes arriving without a way to migrate

The sharpest 2026 complaint is not about features. It is about being handed a change and no tool to carry your work across it — one facilities manager describes recreating 450 schedules by hand.

Support you cannot get a human on

Two separate April and October 2026 reviewers, one in construction and one heading EHS for a UK and Ireland business, describe unanswered tickets and being routed to AI rather than a person. Both are quoted below in full.

Offline works — the photos are the soft spot

Offline coverage is genuinely broad: inspections, actions, assets and reports all work without signal. What does not work offline is analytics, the template editor and the public template library.

The reported weakness is narrower than the headline suggests. A November 2025 reviewer singles out offline photo handling as buggy, and slow sync on weak signal comes up repeatedly. If your job is mostly photographs, test that specifically before you commit.

The report a client actually sees

One technical manager asked for something that reads like a product brief for a different category of tool: a dynamic cover page carrying a photo and the address of the client's property. SafetyCulture reports are built for an internal audit trail. If yours goes to a paying customer, that difference shows on the first page.

The other side of it

What it does better than any alternative on this page

The free tier gives you ten seats. Not a trial — ten working seats, indefinitely. No product on this list, ours included, competes with free at that headcount.

Its offline coverage also spans more than the form: training, assets and scheduling come with it. Most alternatives here make one screen work offline and stop there.

If what you need is a free, broad EHS platform for a team of ten, do not switch. You will not find better, and a page that told you otherwise would be selling you something.

What users actually wrote

Verbatim, with reviewer, source and date

The company makes changes without giving customers enough notice. Provide more migration tools. I have currently having to recreate 450 schedules manually as no migration tool is available.
Andy F., Business Services Manager, Facilities · Capterra · 23 April 2026
Lack of customer support, when you try contacting via ticket or phone no response to enquires. this in turn makes the user look for other solutions.
Paul O., Head of Safety EMEA, Construction · Capterra · 24 April 2026
The customers support is initially good but it would be great to speak to people sometimes rather than use AI
Tiffany A., Head of EHS UKI · G2 · 17 October 2025
I dislike the offline mode functionality in SafetyCulture … sometimes results in photos being buggy
Philip S., Small Business · G2 · 22 November 2025
Can't customise the cover page. The coverpage should be dynamic, to allow a photo and address of a client's property

The alternatives

Every price below is the published list price for a single user at the time of writing. Where offline behaviour is undocumented by the vendor, it says so rather than guessing.

GoCanvas

Works offline

$1,044/yr

$29/user × a 3-user minimum, annual only

Best for
One admin designing a form once and pushing it to a whole crew, with dispatch and integrations attached.
Offline
Genuine — a rich client that fills forms with no coverage at all. Credentials revalidate on a 24-hour default timeout, extendable to 30 days.
Watch out for
The 3-user minimum makes it $1,044 a year even if only one person ever opens it. Owned by Nemetschek since June 2024.

iOS · Android · web

Fieldwire by Hilti

Works offline

Free

Basic: 5 users, 3 projects · Pro $39/user/mo annual

Best for
Coordinating several trades against versioned drawings — plan overlays, RFIs, punch items.
Offline
Genuine and vendor-documented on mobile. You must log in once while online, and offline has to be enabled per project.
Watch out for
Offline is not supported in the Windows app, and every 2025–26 release aims at larger ERP-connected contractors.

iOS · Android · web · Windows

Fulcrum

Works offline

$2,580/yr

$43/user × a 5-seat minimum, annual only

Best for
Geospatial and environmental field teams that need layers, coordinates and API pipelines, not just a form.
Offline
Genuine. Records, photos, video, audio and signatures all capture offline and media uploads as it reconnects. Draft records do not sync between devices.
Watch out for
The 5-seat annual minimum is the whole story: one user costs $2,580 a year.

iOS · Android · web

Zuper

Offline, with limits

Contact sales

no public pricing page

Best for
Field service businesses that want dispatch, scheduling and invoicing wrapped around the inspection.
Offline
Documented but limited: jobs, checklists, notes and inspection forms work offline. Quotes and invoices do not, attached images are not cached, and offline data expires after one day.
Watch out for
The one-day offline expiry and uncached images are the two limits that matter in the field.

iOS · Android · web

CompanyCam

Offline, with limits

$63/mo

Core, 1 user, billed annually · +$29/user

Best for
A crew's photos as a shared system of record — auto timestamp, geotag, visible in the office the moment they're taken.
Offline
Bounded. Photos, video, captions and new projects work offline — but only 60 projects are cached, and a checklist has to be opened before you lose signal.
Watch out for
It is a photo system, not a report writer. The Marketing Suite was unbundled at $79–99/mo on top.

ReportWalk

Works offline

Free to start

monthly plans for higher volumes

Best for
One person who needs the report finished before they leave the site.
Offline
Photos, voice notes and answers are written to the phone first and sync when signal returns. A whole inspection can run in a basement with no bars.
Watch out for
iPhone only, and it is deliberately not a business platform — no scheduling, no invoicing, no CRM.
Platforms
iPhone · web forms in any browser

Disclosure — this is our site

Where ReportWalk fits

SafetyCulture is built so a safety manager can see across sites. ReportWalk is built so the person standing at the site walks away with the finished document.

You photograph what you see and say what you think. The voice note becomes written findings, the photos carry their GPS position, time and the weather at that moment, and what comes out is a branded PDF and a shareable link — produced on site, not at a desk that evening.

Everything is written to the phone before it is written to a server, so no signal is a non-event rather than a lost afternoon.

Where we lose

If you need ten free seats and a multi-site dashboard, Mitti beats us on both and it is not close. We are narrower on purpose: one person, one site, a client-ready report before the van door shuts.

The bit that actually stops people

Already built your template in SafetyCulture?

Send it to us and we will rebuild it in ReportWalk by hand — same sections, same wording, usually within two or three working days. It costs nothing, you do not need an account to ask, and it stays private to you.

Questions

Is Mitti the same company as SafetyCulture?

Yes. SafetyCulture renamed itself Mitti on 11 August 2026 — the company and the inspection platform. safetyculture.com redirects to mitti.com. Your account, your data and your templates are unchanged. Separately, the insurance business that had been called SafetyCulture Care reverted to Mitti Insurance on the same day, which is why searching the name returns two different things.

Is iAuditor still available?

Not under that name. iAuditor became SafetyCulture on 21 November 2022 and SafetyCulture became Mitti on 11 August 2026. It is one continuous product with three names.

Does SafetyCulture work offline?

Broadly, yes. Inspections, actions, assets and reports all work without a connection. Analytics, the template editor and the public template library need signal. Several 2025–26 reviewers report that offline photo handling in particular is unreliable, so test that part with your own phone before relying on it.

Is there a free alternative to SafetyCulture?

Mitti's own free tier, at ten seats, is the cheapest option in this category, so the honest answer for a small team is often to stay. Fieldwire's Basic plan is free for five users and three projects with documented offline support. ReportWalk is free to start for one person.

What is the cheapest way for one person to run inspections?

For a single user the per-seat minimums are what hurt: GoCanvas is $1,044 a year because of a three-user floor, and Fulcrum is $2,580 because of a five-seat one. Tools priced per inspection or per person — Tap Inspect at $7.50 an inspection, ReportWalk free to start — cost a fraction of that at solo volumes.

How this page was made

Prices come from vendor pricing pages, offline behaviour from vendor help documentation, and quotes from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, GetApp and the App Store, each carrying its reviewer, source and date. Where a claim comes from a customer rather than the vendor, the page says so. Where something is undocumented, it says that too. Software pricing changes — check the vendor before you decide, and tell us if you find something here that has gone stale.
