The HS Manager alternatives
the same product as The Inspection Manager
The HS Manager · The Inspection Manager — one company, Inventory Manager Ltd
Before anything else: The HS Manager and The Inspection Manager are one company — Inventory Manager Ltd, registered 06381122 in Manchester — running one codebase with two vertical skins, identical pricing and identical wording. If you are comparing them against each other, you are comparing a product with itself.
Why people are looking
Sixty-day data retention
Completed inspections are retained for sixty days. For a safety record that may need producing after an incident, a claim or an inspection by a regulator, that is a short window.
Whether it can be extended is not published. If you need records held for years — which RIDDOR-adjacent documentation often does — this is the first question to ask.
No public reviews after nineteen years
The company has been trading since 2007 and both sites were rebuilt in March 2026. We could find no public reviews of either brand anywhere.
For a UK product at this price that is unusual rather than damning, but it does mean the only description of the product available to you is the vendor's own.
The names collide badly
“The HS Manager” competes for attention with the official HSE app and the government's Work Right campaign. “The Inspection Manager” is a generic job title.
That is their problem rather than yours, but it is why searching for support material or user experiences returns almost nothing useful.
The other side of it
What it does better than most of this list
Its offline statement is specific about the conditions it was built for: “Fully functional offline, essential for cold stores and loading bays. Completed inspections and photo evidence are saved securely to the device.” Naming cold stores and loading bays is the mark of someone who has stood in one.
It is UK-hosted, UK-only, and priced without a seat minimum at £25 plus VAT with a thirty-day trial that needs no card.
For UK warehousing and logistics safety, or a housing association working to HHSRS, it is aimed precisely at the job.
What the reviews say
Which in this case is almost nothing — and that is worth saying
Research note — not a user review
There are no public reviews of The HS Manager or The Inspection Manager, on any platform, despite nineteen years of trading. We are not going to treat that silence as evidence of a problem — plenty of good small software has no review footprint. It does mean everything above comes from the vendor's own pages, and that the sixty-day retention limit is the one fact on this page we would want confirmed in writing before signing.

The alternatives
Every price below is the published list price for a single user at the time of writing. Where offline behaviour is undocumented by the vendor, it says so rather than guessing.
Mitti (formerly SafetyCulture)
Works offlineFree for 10 seats
Premium $24/seat/mo billed annually
- Best for
- A safety or facilities team at more than one site that needs forms, actions and assets in one place.
- Offline
- Broad. Inspections, actions, assets and reports all work offline; analytics, the template editor and the public library do not.
- Watch out for
- AI features are now metered per seat, and April 2026 reviewers report changes landing without migration tools.
- Platforms
- iOS · Android · web
GoAudits
Works offline$10/user/mo
billed annually; no free tier, 14-day trial
- Best for
- A multi-site team that wants one audit library, scoring and scheduled reports across several verticals.
- Offline
- Genuine — “Conduct mobile inspections on your preferred device, even offline.”
- Watch out for
- Two dated reviews describe the same template-setup friction. Its iOS app was last updated 9 June 2024 and carries 33 ratings, and the in-app subscription is listed at $299.99/yr against a $10/user/mo website price.

- iOS 15+ · Android · web
Safesite
Offline, with limitsFree
genuinely free for unlimited members; Premium $16/member/mo
- Best for
- A construction crew that needs OSHA-shaped safety forms for an unlimited number of people at no cost.
- Offline
- The vendor hedges its own wording: “Complete safety tasks with limited connectivity (offline mode).” No supporting help article exists.
- Watch out for
- Free and still shipping — the iOS app updated in July 2026 — but the company has not published a blog post since July 2022.

- iOS 14+ · Android · web
eAuditor
Works offlineFree for 10 seats
unlimited inspections on the free tier; Premium $9.99/seat/mo annual
- Best for
- A small team that wants ten free seats and unlimited inspections without a trial clock.
- Offline
- Genuine — “we made sure our app supports environments where you don’t have an internet connection.”
- Watch out for
- Almost no independent record exists — three App Store ratings and no Capterra reviews — so there is little evidence either way. No native iPad app.

- iOS 15.1+ · Android · web

- Watch out for
- iPhone only, and it is deliberately not a business platform — no scheduling, no invoicing, no CRM.

Disclosure — this is our site
Where ReportWalk fits
Both products work offline and both are aimed at someone walking a building. The difference is what comes out.
Ours produces a branded PDF and a shareable link finished on site, with photographs carrying GPS, time and the weather at that moment, and spoken observations turned into written findings.
And your reports stay yours — there is no sixty-day window after which they are gone.
Where we lose
If you need HHSRS or RIDDOR-shaped forms built for UK housing and logistics specifically, they have templates aimed at that and we have general ones. Ours are also US-flavoured in places, which is a real gap for a UK buyer.

How this page was made
Prices come from vendor pricing pages, offline behaviour from vendor help documentation, and quotes from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, GetApp and the App Store, each carrying its reviewer, source and date. Where a claim comes from a customer rather than the vendor, the page says so. Where something is undocumented, it says that too. Software pricing changes — check the vendor before you decide, and tell us if you find something here that has gone stale.
