Hover turns a walk around a house into a measured 3D model with a priced estimate attached, which for a roofer is close to magic. The question people arrive here with is what it costs in a good month.
Why people are looking
$59 to $139 per property
Three projects are free. After that it is per property, in a range that depends on what you are ordering, with a Pro plan at $999 a year.
Run the arithmetic against your own volume. At eight properties a month the per-property model can pass the Pro plan quickly, and at two a month it is far cheaper. There is no wrong answer, but there is a crossover and it is worth finding.
Entirely cloud-dependent, by architecture
The photogrammetry runs on their servers. No vendor statement about offline exists in either direction, and none really could — you cannot reconstruct a 3D model on a phone.
So the capture may buffer, but the product does not exist without a connection at some point. For most residential exterior work that is fine. It is worth knowing anyway.
The platform is broadening
A "connected platform" launched on 29 January 2026, and Material Lists were renamed Automated Estimates.
Renaming a core output is usually a sign of repositioning rather than a feature change. If you have workflows or documentation referring to Material Lists, expect some friction.
A note on the reviews
There are quotes about Hover on GetApp, but none of them carry dates. We are not going to reproduce undated complaints as though they were current — an undated review could be five years old, and on a page whose whole value is that everything carries a date, that would undo the point.

What the walk-around actually produces
An accurate 3D model of a house exterior with material takeoffs and a priced estimate, from photographs anyone on the crew can take.
For roofing, siding and restoration that is a quoting engine, not a documentation tool. It shortens the distance between the visit and the signed contract.
Nothing below produces a measured exterior model. Treat these as things you would run alongside it.

- Published per-scan prices contradict each other across sources, and a photographer marketplace launched in November 2025 is turning the tool into a two-sided market.

- The $40 per-project overage is the cost that surprises people, and legacy per-seat plans still exist alongside the new model.
