Encircle is built for people who bill insurers, and it is good at that. The reason people look elsewhere is almost always the same: there is no small version of it.
Why people are looking
$285 a month is the floor, not the starting point
Roughly $3,420 a year, flat-rate and tiered by job volume. There is no entry plan, no per-job option, no free tier to grow out of.
For a restoration firm running claims continuously that is a rounding error against a single job. For a one-person operation, or anyone whose work is only sometimes insurance work, it is a commitment made before the first job.
Metered add-ons sit above the base price
Encircle acquired The Edge, a ROM estimating product, on 7 November 2025, and moved to metered add-ons above the base subscription. Your real monthly number depends on which of those you turn on.
Offline means pre-fetch
The app functions normally without a connection, but it will not send or receive. Claim data has to be downloaded before you are out of signal.
Same pattern as Spectora and ISN: workable, but it puts the planning on you rather than on the software.
A gap in the ratings worth noticing
Encircle carries 4.8 out of 5 on Capterra and 3.8 stars on the App Store. That is a wide spread for one product.
It proves nothing on its own — different populations, different moments, different things being rated. But review sites tend to capture the person who bought the software, and app stores tend to capture the person holding the phone at the job. Where those two diverge, it is usually worth a trial rather than a decision.
The other side of it
What Encircle does that the cheaper options do not
Claim-grade depth. Moisture logs over time, contents inventory, and ROM estimates in a form adjusters accept without argument.
That last part is the whole product. A cheaper tool that produces a beautiful report an adjuster disputes has cost you more than $285 a month.
If your income depends on insurance approvals, treat everything below as a supplement rather than a replacement.

There are only two qualifying negative reviews for Encircle in the last eighteen months, and neither is quotable in a way that would be fair to the product.
We would rather say that than pad this section. The rating gap described above is the only signal worth acting on, and it is a reason to trial, not a complaint.
