Driveroo alternatives
now trading as ROO.AI
Driveroo · ROO.AI
Driveroo is one of the few fleet products that claims both offline operation and voice-to-text, which makes it a genuine competitor rather than a name on a list. Two things are worth checking before you commit: the minimums it does not publish, and which brand you are actually buying.
Why people are looking
“Minimums apply” without a number
The pricing page says $5 per asset per month for Essentials and $7 for Pro, with unlimited users — then adds that prices require annual contracts and that minimums apply.
Unlimited users at five dollars an asset is genuinely attractive. An unpublished minimum attached to an annual contract is the part to pin down before signing, because it determines whether that price applies to you at all.
Two brands, no announced rebrand date
Driveroo is “powered by ROO.AI”, the legacy Driveroo Inspector listing has been retired, and brand volume is migrating. No rebrand date has been published.
Practically, that means support material, reviews and documentation are split across two names and you will need to search both.
Offline is claimed but not described
The vendor advertises “online or offline operation”. There is no sync model, no cache limit and no documentation of what happens to a walkaround completed with no signal.
We are not going to tell you it does not work — that would be inventing a fault. What we can say is that it is a claim without a mechanism behind it, and for a compliance document that is a reasonable thing to test on a trial.
The other side of it
What Driveroo does well
Unlimited users on a per-asset price is the right model for a fleet where lots of drivers touch a few vehicles. Per-seat pricing punishes exactly that shape, and Driveroo does not.
It also genuinely combines tap-and-go inputs with voice-to-text to cut typing, which is more than most of the fleet products in this research offer.
It ships — both iOS apps updated in August 2026 — and covers trucking, construction, rental, schools and government.
What the reviews say
Which in this case is almost nothing — and that is worth saying
Research note — not a user review
We found no dated reviews of Driveroo or ROO.AI inside our eighteen-month window. Its directory presence is real but review-free, which is common for products this size and is not evidence of anything either way. The material on this page is drawn from the vendor's own pricing and product pages.

The alternatives
Every price below is the published list price for a single user at the time of writing. Where offline behaviour is undocumented by the vendor, it says so rather than guessing.
Fleetio
Offline, with limits~$20–25/mo for 5 vehicles
$4/vehicle/mo annual; Pro and Premium are annual-only
- Best for
- A fleet that needs inspections joined up to maintenance, parts, fuel and vehicle history.
- Offline
- Narrower than the marketing: the help documentation says “Offline functionality in Fleetio Go is currently only available for Inspection Submissions”, and that “Pending Inspections will NOT upload when the app is closed or minimized.”
- Watch out for
- Offline covers inspection submissions and nothing else, and backgrounding the app stops pending inspections uploading.
- Platforms
- iOS · Android · web
Simply Fleet
Works offlineFree under 5 vehicles
3 users on the free tier; Essential $2/vehicle/mo; Advanced $4
- Best for
- A fleet under five vehicles that wants maintenance, fuel and inspections for nothing.
- Offline
- Claimed for the inspection itself — “Complete inspections where cell service is unavailable.” One reviewer counters that uploading fill-ups and services still needs a connection.
- Watch out for
- The voice capture is scoped to fill-ups, expenses, mileage and issues and does not appear on the DVIR page at all.
- Platforms
- iOS · Android · web
Powerfleet Inspect
UndocumentedContact sales
no figures, minimums or free tier published
- Best for
- Commercial trucking operations that want DVIR joined to hours-of-service and telematics.
- Offline
- Undocumented. No offline statement appears anywhere on the product or store listings, which is a conspicuous gap for a DVIR tool used in yards.
- Watch out for
- Renamed twice — Fleet Complete became Powerfleet on 1 October 2024, and FC Inspect became Unity Inspect on 30 May 2025 — so support material is scattered across three names.
- Platforms
- iOS · Android · tablets · web — EN/FR/ES
FleetGO
Needs a connection£2/vehicle/mo
“no sign-up fees, extra charges”; minimums not stated
- Best for
- UK and Benelux transport operators wanting DVSA-shaped checks alongside tachograph and telematics data.
- Offline
- None, stated plainly in their own FAQ: “You need a working internet connection to use the FleetGO Driver App.”
- Watch out for
- The driver app does not work without a connection, which is the condition a yard walkaround is most likely to be in.
- Platforms
- iOS · Android · web
ReportWalk
Works offlineFree to start
monthly plans for higher volumes
- Best for
- One person who needs the report finished before they leave the site.
- Offline
- Photos, voice notes and answers are written to the phone first and sync when signal returns. A whole inspection can run in a basement with no bars.
- Watch out for
- iPhone only, and it is deliberately not a business platform — no scheduling, no invoicing, no CRM.
- Platforms
- iPhone · web forms in any browser
Disclosure — this is our site
Where ReportWalk fits
Driveroo is built around the asset. We are built around the document that comes off the walk.
Photographs carry GPS, time and the weather at that moment; the damage you describe out loud becomes written findings; a branded PDF and a shareable link are finished in the yard.
Our offline behaviour is stated with a mechanism rather than a claim: photos, voice and answers are written to the phone's own database before anything reaches a server.
Where we lose
For a fleet with many drivers and few vehicles, Driveroo's unlimited-user pricing is a better commercial fit than ours, and it covers asset history in a way we do not.

Questions
How much does Driveroo cost?
$5 per asset per month for Essentials and $7 for Pro, with unlimited users. The vendor states that these prices require annual contracts and that minimums apply, without publishing what those minimums are.
Is Driveroo the same as ROO.AI?
Yes. Driveroo is powered by ROO.AI and brand volume is moving to the ROO.AI name. No rebrand date has been published, so documentation and reviews are split across both names.
Does Driveroo work offline?
The vendor advertises “online or offline operation” but publishes no sync model or limits behind that claim.

How this page was made
Prices come from vendor pricing pages, offline behaviour from vendor help documentation, and quotes from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, GetApp and the App Store, each carrying its reviewer, source and date. Where a claim comes from a customer rather than the vendor, the page says so. Where something is undocumented, it says that too. Software pricing changes — check the vendor before you decide, and tell us if you find something here that has gone stale.
