We built this page because nothing existed. Three named inspectors documented switching from EZ Home Inspection Software to Spectora inside eighteen months — the largest single inbound flow to Spectora from any one product we found — and not one comparison page has been published by anybody.
Who wrote this, and what we sell
We make ReportWalk, a competing inspection app. Neither company here is a partner and neither knows we wrote this. Our own product is mentioned once, at the bottom, for a case neither of these covers.

Stay with EZ Home Inspection Software if it does what you need and the price suits you. It is a long-established, low-cost product, and none of the departures we found describe it as broken.
Spectora
Choose Spectora if you want a modern web platform with frequent releases and a client-facing report that looks current. That is where the documented switchers went.
Be honest with yourself about why you are looking. If the trigger is the report's appearance to clients rather than the software's function, that is a legitimate reason to move — and also one worth checking against a cheaper redesign first.
Who actually switched, and why
An important limitation, stated plainly: these are Capterra's structured 'switched from' fields, which record the direction but not always a reason. We have three dated, named, one-directional switches and no stated motive from any of them. We are not going to invent one.

Where they genuinely differ
Generation, more than feature set
EZ Home Inspection Software is a long-standing, inexpensive product built for a desktop era. Spectora is a web platform built after smartphones.
Most of what separates them follows from that. Neither is a criticism of the other's engineering.
What we could not price
We did not capture current pricing for EZ Home Inspection Software from the vendor's own page with a date attached, so we are not quoting a figure. Spectora lists at $109 a month.
If price is your deciding factor, get the current number from the vendor rather than from us or from a directory.
What each is honestly better at
EZ Home Inspection Software
Being inexpensive and staying out of the way. It has a long installed base of inspectors who have never needed to think about their software, which is a genuine virtue and the opposite of what most vendors in this category offer.
Spectora
The client-facing artefact and the pace of development. If your reports are competing for agent referrals against inspectors using modern software, the difference is visible on the first page of the document.
What we could not verify
- Why any of the three switchers moved. Capterra recorded the direction, not the reason, and we will not fill that in.
- Current pricing for EZ Home Inspection Software.
- Whether there is any flow in the other direction. We found none, from a sampled corpus that surfaces 'switched from' on a minority of reviews.
- Reddit was unreachable in all sessions.
If neither fits — a third shape of tool
If you are on a long-serving, inexpensive product and the only thing pushing you is how the report looks to clients, that is worth isolating before you change platforms.
