Housecall Pro is very good at the part most field tools ignore: getting you paid. The reason to look elsewhere is usually one of two things — what the add-ons cost, or what happens when the signal drops.
Why people are looking
No offline editing, in the vendor's own words
Housecall Pro states it directly: "Editing without cell service or WiFi connection is not supported at this time." A job you already opened can be viewed. It cannot be changed.
We are quoting the vendor rather than a reviewer because this is the clearest offline statement any product on this site has published, and it deserves to be read as written rather than softened.
For a plumber in a suburb, it rarely matters. For anyone working in basements, plant rooms, rural properties or steel-framed buildings, it is the whole decision.
The price is $59. The bill often is not.
$59 a month billed annually, $79 month-to-month. What reviewers describe is the accumulation on top: price books, CRM, camera usage each arriving as a separate line.
A December 2025 owner in construction lists exactly those three. It is worth pricing the configuration you would actually run rather than the headline tier.
Photographs go in more easily than they come out
A May 2025 office manager reports there is no batch download for stored images — each one has to be downloaded by hand.
If your photographs are evidence you may need later, in a dispute or a claim, ask how you would get all of them out before you put several years of them in.
