DoorLoop is a well-built property management platform that ships fast and is liked by its users — 4.8 stars from over four thousand ratings is not something you argue with. This page is for the narrower question: whether it is the right tool for the inspection specifically.
Why people are looking
Cloud-based, with no offline documentation
The vendor's wording: “As a cloud-based software, DoorLoop automatically updates across all platforms when you're connected to the Internet.” There is no offline help article at all.
We are publishing their sentence rather than asserting that it does not work offline, because those are different claims and only one of them is documented. But if your inspections happen in basements, vacant units with the power off, or rural properties, this is the thing to test on day one.
AI Inspections is camera-only
Launched 2 February 2026 and described as guided multi-photo capture with instant report generation.
That is a genuine feature and useful. It is not dictation, so if you were hoping to talk your way through a unit, this is not that.
No free tier and no trial
Starter is $69 a month billed annually for up to ten units, Pro is $149 and Premium is $209. There is no free tier and no trial.
You are buying accounting, leasing, tenant portals and inspections together. If you only want the last one, that is an expensive way to get a checklist.

It is a complete property management system — accounting, leasing, tenant and owner portals, maintenance — and it is good enough at all of it that people rate it 4.8 across thousands of reviews.
It also ships quickly, with iOS releases landing within days of our research.
If you need one system to run a rental business, an inspection app is not a substitute and this page is not suggesting otherwise.

DoorLoop's public review record is overwhelmingly positive — 4.8 from more than four thousand ratings — and we could not assemble a set of dated critical reviews that met our standard. Rather than reach for an adjacent complaint from a different company in the same space, which is what a lazier page would do, we are stating the position plainly: the case here is documentary. DoorLoop does not document offline behaviour, and its inspection AI is camera-based rather than spoken.

- The homepage says reports generate offline; the zAssistant page makes no offline claim at all, so whether the transcription itself runs on-device is unresolved. The iOS app has not shipped since 27 July 2025 while Android shipped in September 2026.
