Jobber vs FieldPulse
Three named contractors moved from Jobber to FieldPulse across 2026, and all three gave the same reason. It is the least ambiguous migration pattern we found in any category, and the cause is price.
Who wrote this, and what we sell
We make ReportWalk, an inspection app. We do not sell field service software and neither of these competes with us. We wrote this because the pricing pattern is instructive, not because we expect the reader to become a customer.
The short answer
Jobber
Choose Jobber if the ecosystem, the polish and the support are worth the premium. It is the established product and its users generally like it — the departures below are about cost, not quality.
FieldPulse
Choose FieldPulse if the monthly figure is the constraint. Three documented switchers named exactly that and nothing else.
The pattern worth carrying away is structural: per-seat pricing punishes exactly the businesses that are growing headcount fastest. Check how any tool prices your fourth and fifth user before you commit to your first.
Who actually switched, and why
Three records across seven months, all inbound to FieldPulse, with price the stated or implied reason in each. We found no reverse flow. Both principals publish pages on this pair, so the comparison is commercially live.
Jobber → FieldPulse
“The pricing on Jobber was too much and FieldPulse looked like a great next option!”
Previous provider → FieldPulse
“charged a lot and way under delivered”
The reviewer does not name the previous provider, and we are not going to assume it was Jobber.
Housecall Pro and Jobber → FieldPulse
“Switched from Housecall Pro and Jobber”
Where they genuinely differ
The pricing mechanism, not just the number
The complaints here are not that Jobber is expensive in absolute terms. They are about what it costs as a business adds people.
That is a structural property of per-seat pricing rather than a criticism of one vendor, and it recurs across every category in our research — the same complaint appears about CMMS tools, audit platforms and inspection software.
What we could not price
Neither vendor's current pricing was captured from its own page with a date during this research, so we are not quoting figures. Get them directly and model your headcount in twelve months, not today.
What each is honestly better at
Jobber
Maturity and the surrounding ecosystem. It is the established name, its users rate it highly, and none of the documented departures criticise the product itself. Paying more for something that works is a defensible decision.
FieldPulse
Cost as you grow. Three independent contractors named price as the reason they moved, which is about as clear a signal as this kind of evidence produces.
What we could not verify
- Current pricing for either product.
- Which provider Rob L. actually left.
- Whether the quality of FieldPulse matches Jobber's — the departures we found are about cost, and none of them comment on what they gained beyond the saving.
- Reddit was unreachable in every research session.
If neither fits — a third shape of tool
The per-seat lesson above applies to inspection software too, and it is why ReportWalk is priced for one person with no seat minimum. It is also why it does far less than either product here — no dispatch, no invoicing, no CRM.
