ISN (Inspection Support Network) vs HomeGauge
These two products do different jobs, and the only comparison anyone has published is written by one of the parties. For most inspectors the real question is not which to buy but whether you need both.
Who wrote this, and what we sell
We make ReportWalk, a competing inspection app. We are not one of these two products and neither company has any relationship with us. Our own tool appears once, at the bottom.
The short answer
ISN (Inspection Support Network)
Choose ISN if the constraint is running the business — scheduling, agent relationships, invoicing and the administration that multiplies with every additional inspector.
HomeGauge
Choose HomeGauge if the constraint is producing the report. It is a report writer, and its offline model is the least hedged in the category.
Plenty of firms run both deliberately, one for operations and one for reporting. If you are a solo inspector, that is probably two subscriptions for a job that needs one.
Who actually switched, and why
We found no migration between ISN and HomeGauge in either direction, which supports the complement reading. The two records above are HomeGauge's only documented inbound switches from anywhere, and both predate the pandemic.

Where they genuinely differ
Different jobs
ISN is scheduling, agent management, invoicing and back-office operations, priced per inspection rather than per seat.
HomeGauge writes reports. It lists at $89 a month and its ownership changed in April 2025 when Spectora acquired it.
Comparing their feature lists produces a misleading answer, because most of what each does the other never attempted.
The ownership context
HomeGauge is now owned by Spectora, which also sells a competing report writer — and lists that competitor on HomeGauge's own pricing page.
ISN is owned by Porch Group, which announced in April 2024 that ISN had raised its minimum monthly fee and increased transaction fees by approximately 20%.
Both products sit inside portfolios with their own strategies. That is worth knowing when you are choosing which to build a business on.
What each is honestly better at
ISN
Running an inspection company with more than one inspector in it. Recurring scheduling, agent relationships and accounting integration are the machinery a growing firm needs, and a report writer does none of it.
HomeGauge
Producing the report, offline and at length. Its own documentation makes the strongest offline claim in the category — the whole report with no connection — and for a desktop writer that is a genuine advantage.
What we could not verify
- Any recent migration into HomeGauge. Its only recorded inbound switches are from early 2020, and we could not establish whether that reflects the product or the sampling.
- The actual size of ISN's 2024 price increase as experienced by individual customers. The company states approximately 20% on transaction fees plus a minimum-fee rise; one reviewer describes a doubling.
- HomeGauge's roadmap under Spectora ownership. No end-of-life has been announced and no roadmap has been published.
- Reddit was unreachable in every research session.
If neither fits — a third shape of tool
If you are a solo inspector holding two subscriptions for one job, the question is which one you could stop paying for. ReportWalk is the narrow end of that — a phone-first app producing the finished report on site, with no scheduling and no agent portal, so it replaces the reporting half and none of the operations.
