Encircle vs CompanyCam
We set out to referee this comparison and found there is not much of a fight. Neither product takes customers from the other. Both replace things that were never software in the first place.
Who wrote this, and what we sell
We make ReportWalk, an inspection app, which overlaps with the photo-documentation half of both products. Neither company has any relationship with us. Our own tool appears once, at the bottom.
The short answer
Encircle
Choose Encircle if the job is documenting a claim — photos, notes, contents, moisture readings — in a form an adjuster will accept.
CompanyCam
Choose CompanyCam if the job is photo documentation across a contracting business, organised by property, shared with a crew and a customer.
The evidence says these are not alternatives. If you are comparing them, check what you are currently using: if it is WhatsApp or Dropbox, CompanyCam is the natural replacement; if it is Excel and a folder, Encircle is.
Who actually switched, and why
Zero cross-migration between Encircle and CompanyCam in either direction. CompanyCam's documented inbound comes from Dropbox, Google Photos, WhatsApp and SiteCam. Encircle's comes from Excel, Google Drive, DASH and Restoration Manager. They displace entirely different things.

Not a switch between the two products here. Included because it names precisely what CompanyCam competes against — the phone you already have, and the ad-hoc process around it.
Where they genuinely differ
What each actually replaces
This is more useful than a feature comparison. CompanyCam replaces the ad-hoc photo process — a camera roll, a WhatsApp group, a Dropbox folder nobody can navigate.
Encircle replaces the claim documentation process — spreadsheets, scattered notes, and older restoration-specific tools.
A firm could plausibly run both without redundancy, which is not something you can say about most pairs.
Pricing
Neither vendor's current pricing was captured from its own page with a date during this research. Encircle's materials cite figures in comparison to a third product; we are not treating those as verified.
What each is honestly better at
Encircle
Claim documentation with the structure an adjuster expects. Moisture readings, contents, room-by-room records — the specific artefacts restoration work produces, rather than general-purpose photos.
CompanyCam
Making photos useful across a whole contracting business. Organised by property, shared with the crew and the customer, and replacing a process most firms do not realise is costing them. Its inbound migration from WhatsApp and Dropbox says exactly what problem it solves.
What we could not verify
- Current pricing for either product.
- Whether this pair is a real buyer question at all. We found no cross-migration, and the honest read is that it may be a marketer's construct rather than a decision anyone faces.
- Reddit was unreachable in every research session.
If neither fits — a third shape of tool
If what you need is a structured inspection report rather than either a claim file or a photo library, that is a third thing. ReportWalk produces a client-ready PDF on site, with photos carrying GPS, time and weather — and no claim workflow.
